News Update
REVOLUTION AGM
In January we held a Officials Training seminar and Annual General Meeting. We have a great Team of Officials and they travelled from around the Country for the event.
ACMAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our first Tournament of the Year as always is the ACMAC Championships. We had over 100 entries from ACMAC & Inspire Clubs competing in Points, Sport Sword, Forms & Weapon Forms. We had many of our Elite guys in Elite Divisions and so many more new guys, it will really strengthen the Team when those people officially join our ranks.
The highlight of the day was the Boys vs Girls Team Fight which the Girls won convincingly. This will become an Annual Tradition. They all gave 100% and showed the new guys the standard that can be achieved.
Well done everyone who took part.
WATFORD OPEN
A small Team went to Watford for The WON which is one of the biggest Open Tournaments in the UK. 6 people came back with 3 medals and loads of experience.
Well done everyone especially Aidan & Sarah who medalled in massive sections.
REVOLUTION DERBYSHIRE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our first Revolution Tournament of 2015 was held in Chapel. Competitors from all over braved the weather and we had a great event as always. Team ACMAC brought back 19 Gold, 19 Silver & 7 Bronze.
SDF SEMINAR AT BSBB
In February I travelled up to Newcastle to my good friend Rick Burns School and taught SDF. I love being up there and the students are always great, look forward to more throughout 2015.
WAKO & PETERBOROUGH SERIES
2 Tournaments in 1 day. Aidan, Shea, Tiff, Hayden & Suneil went to WAKO British and Inspire guys went to Peterborough. A handful of medals at both from small Teams. Aidan won our best medal ever at WAKO (Silver), the Gold is getting closer at the UK’s Toughest Comp.
WTKA BEST OF BRITISH
Around a dozen members went to WTKA Best of British in Sheffield and came back with 16 Gold, 5 Silvers and 9 Bronze. WTKA British Titles went to Tiffiny Richardson (4), Hayden Lindley (3), Dave Fletcher (2), Lucy Shaw, Charlie Ransford, Audrey Parker, Sarah Illingworth, Dom Sayle, Sam Orwin & Alastair Bell.
REVOLUTION NORTH OF ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
By far the busiest Revolution ever. 680 entries from over 40 clubs around the Country. I am so lucky to have an amazing Team of Officials, we had over 40 staff throughout the day to make sure the day run smooth.
Team ACMAC had a big squad out, over 50 people for the first time so many new guys competing alongside our best and most experienced people. We won 19 Golds, 28 Silvers & 16 Bronze. We had 2 full podiums of ACMAC Competitors, Paris won the Fighter of the Day and Tiff finally got the Triple Crown (3 Golds)
IRISH OPEN
The worlds biggest Tournament, it was an absolutely amazing weekend with fantastic people. Amazing fighters from around the World and just a fantastic atmosphere in the hotel with so many of my Martial Arts friends there I can not wait to go back.
I was so proud of Hayden, Tiff, Aidan, Shea, Dave, Sarah, Sarah, Beth & James for competing with the best of the best. Aidan & Shea fought to Quarter Finals in categories with 100+ people in and Tiff got robbed against the eventual winner.
We will be back in force next year.
KAMA SEMINAR
My good friend Rick Burns came down a taught a Kama Seminar and taught us a really advanced form that hopefully the guys will master for Competitions.
DAVE KOVAR INSTRUCTOR COLLEGE
My Role Model Dave Kovar was over from California on his UK Tour and his first stop was ACMAC where some of my Team had the privilege to take part in an Instructors College. He is the best and we now have over 20 Instructors certified under him.
